If you’re talking about modding your Xbox 360, you can do it but I wouldn’t recommend it. Any kind of mods whether it involves flashing a drive’s ROM, modding for heat issues, or jtagging for using burned game discs will void your warranty.
Modding will also get you permanently banned on Xbox Live.

the sata connection is the same and the power is ugh? difficult

you will need a laptop that has a e-sata so you can hook up you drive
once you go that done put the drive into mode-b
open jungle flasher and back up the drives data/firmaware
flash using firmeware that goes to your drive.
alot of the same way as just chnage the drive up from the 360s.
P.S. im doing this off the top of my head so just get a 2nd source but thats how you do it

Where can i find the information necessary to flash an xbox 360. My laptop has no SATA ports and my Xbox has a Philips/lite-on drive
From reading forms i have found out that the only way to flash an xbox 360 using a laptop and connecting the laptop to the drive with a SATA to USB adaptor is if the xbox 360 had a Hitachi DVD drive.
I know that the Hitachi is the easiest one to flash out of all the drives so i was thinking about buying a New Hitachi drive off ebay and selling my own and then flashing that new Hitachi one!
But i wanted to make sure this will work before i go out and buy the drive, SATA cable and the adaptor.

I don’t think it’s possible most people that flash it use a VIA 6421a chipset . It it recognizes the dvd drive then yes you will be able to do it.
Havent seen anyone flash a dvd sucessfully on a labtop though :/
